*[NYC] Code of Conduct

Please Read:

We’re excited to have you at *[NYC]! This event brings our community together to share ideas, creativity, and inspiration.

Our goal is for every participant - attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff - to feel safe, respected, and included. This Code of Conduct applies throughout the venue, during sessions, workshops, and networking activities, as well as at any social gatherings connected to the event.

The Short Version

At *[NYC], everyone deserves a positive and safe experience. Harassment, exclusion, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

We celebrate diversity across age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, and religion (or lack thereof). Respect for others should be reflected in everything you say, do, or share.

Expected Behavior

We ask all participants to:

  • Be respectful and inclusive in all interactions.
  • Listen actively and give space for different perspectives.
  • Contribute constructively to talks, workshops, and networking.
  • Respect personal boundaries, including consent for photos or personal conversations.
  • Follow venue safety and health guidelines.

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior includes (but is not limited to):

  • Harassment or offensive comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, race, age, or religion.
  • Purposeful misgendering or exclusionary language.
  • Sexual or violent jokes, images, or advances.
  • Intimidation, stalking, or unwanted physical contact.
  • Disrupting talks, workshops, or networking spaces.
  • Threatening behavior, physical violence, or bringing weapons.

Consequences

If someone engages in unacceptable behavior, organizers may take the following actions:

  • Issue a warning with clear expectations for future behavior.
  • Remove the individual from the event without refund.
  • Restrict access to future Sanity events.

Reporting

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately.

You can:

  • Speak directly with a Sanity staff member (you’ll recognize us by CREW t-shirts).
  • Email everything@sanity.io during or after the event.

All reports will be handled promptly and respectfully.
